Geek Of The Week July 6, 2012

Yesterday, I went on a date to see the space shuttle Discovery at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. It was a very emotional experience. It should be obvious why this date is this week’s Geek Of The Week. Cos, yeah… a date to see a SPACE SHUTTLE THAT WAS ACTUALLY IN SPACE AND STUFF!

As I said yesterday on Google+,  as soon as I saw her, I couldn’t stop shaking. Loads of blurry pictures as a result. I nearly cried. When I was wee, I had dreams of being inside of one. Was a little painful being so close, yet unable to touch her.

I’ll be writing more about this experience on Wired’s GeekMom. And depending on the quality of the video I took — I haven’t looked at it yet — there may be a video posted of a walk around the space shuttle Discovery. But until then, you’ll find the pictures below.

Have a great weekend!
