Common Crush of a Geek – Guest Post by Kid2

Editor’s Note: The following is a guest post from my 13-year-old aka Kid2. He informed me he was going to write a guest post about geek crushes. Not thinking he was completely serious, I said, “Okay.” Next thing I know, he was asking me about how long it should be. I told him to write how ever many words it takes to say what needs to be said. No more. No less. Then it dawned I should tell him not to write anything inappropriate. He knows exactly how to skirt the boundaries.

Every geek goes through many things, one of them being the ability to have crushes on fictional characters, or finding them attractive. Whether he or she is from a movie, game, or television show, it happens. You also go through that embarrassing moment when you are like, “Don’t you just love so ‘n so?” Or, “Don’t you think he or she is so handsome/sexy?” And your friends are like, “No,weird!”

I know this because it happens to me everytime I’m playing Halo with my buddies and Cortana comes, or even just starts talking. I say things like, “Don’t you think Cortana is so damn hot!?” But they reply, “Yo, dude, it’s a game.” Before the first time that ever happened, I thought it was normal to find fictional-beings attractive, but nope. I’ve had to deal with this kind of thing all my life. My mum has an almost creepy attraction to the leader of my enemies, Optimus Prime. She goes bonkers every time he speaks, or even when you mention his name! She almost messes her pants when we watch the old cartoons and they start to transform. Oh boy, when the noise start going, my mum starts going. Funniest thing ever!

Everyone gets their crushes from different stuff. My mum and I get our lovers from totally separate things. I get my babes that get me burning from the games I love, i.e. Skyrim, Halo, Batman.

Which involve Aela the Huntress, Cortana and Catwomen. But my mum gets stuff from shows she watched when she was younger.

For you non-geeks reading this — even though I don’t why you kind of people would be on this website — that don’t know how strong this attraction may be, we are in-love, or almost, with these people. I bet if my mum had a opportunity to touch Prime’s robowand, she would. I know I would go on Cortanas holo deck, or clean the carpets with Aela. I bet my mum just got shocked reading this considering I’m the youngest, so I’m always going to be her little baby. Hi mum, I’m all grown-up.

The first moment of meeting your true love is probably the best moment of your life! I remember being very young, and a captain of a really big ship, with space people on it who gave me a blue chick that talked to me. She would help me through the good and the bad. Well it’s a shooter, so the bad and the worse. When I didn’t know what to do, she was right by my side. Also, she’s naked. I can remember Kid1 and I going, “Oh my god, I see her bum.”

You can tell when it’s love. I find Cortana even more sexy every time she’s mad. Like how she’s spazzing on one of the Halo 4 trailers. Also, you know you are in-love when you find a robot sexy. Mum. I love Skyrim because it gave me the opportunity to marry Aela. Happiest day of my Skyrim life.

I hope you enjoyed reading about these “Geeky Pleasures” I know almost every geek can relate to this. Hopefully, I could come back here for another blog. But until then, peace out!
