Next week, there will be a review of Phineas & Ferb: The Perry Files on Geeky Pleasures.

Phineas and Ferb is a show that a 30+ should be watching? Why not? I enjoy it a lot actually. Always hassling their poor sister, while having the GREATEST time. I only wish I had their mad skillz to do things like build a roller coaster in my backyard
I love Phineas and Ferb because all of the kids care about each other! There’s no putting down or anything else. Accepting each other and having fun.
Best episode? Nerds of a Feather. HANDS DOWN.
I have not watched this show for a couple years. Since I stopped having cable. But I really enjoyed each episode. My favorite part was how everything was back to normal by the time the Mom looked, even if they had a giant water park in the back yard.
Heh, they’re crazy, and my kids like ‘em.
I do admit, I like the Gitchy Goo song. I would have put that in my GLS song if I knew it ahead of time.
My 4 kids love it and I love watching it with them.
“Squirrels in my pants! Squirrels in my PANTS!!!!” I laugh until I cry when Candace sings this!!!!
[...] And Geeky Pleasures IS having a giveaway for Canadians. You can win 1 of 3 Copies of “Phineas & Ferb: The Perry Files’ DVD! [...]
Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Doom is the absolute best for obvious reasons but mostly because it’s the perfect episode to get friends hooked on the show. At first they quirk their brows and say, “Why are we watching a cartoon?” but by the first mention that Lawn Gnomes are protecting people’s yards from black magic, they are hooked. No question.
I love Phineas and Ferb because it’s the only show my son watches that has the same sensibility of humour as some of the shows I watch.
My favourite episode is #1 – Rollercoaster. This is the only episode I have seen, and I watched it because of you tweeting about this giveaway, Jules. I didn’t know what a Phineas & Ferb was…but based on the first episode I am about to become a fan…
I adore Phineas and Ferb, and the reasons actually cover a wide range: For one, up until recently I lived in a in-home daycare. Watching the television the kids tuned into every day was like having my brain melt out through my ears. Phineas and Ferb caught my attention immediately because it was witty, intelligent, funny without ever relying on embarrassing someone for the humor and also didn’t rely on gender stereotypes or racial stereotypical for their jokes. There’s a wide cast of characters of different motivations and backgrounds, and even the stereotypical ‘bully and nerd’ pair have surprising moments that break out of the expected to give kids something very, very unique to watch. Phineas and Ferb is flat out one of the best shows for children on television right now, bar none.
The reason the show has caught my attention is just how intelligent it is, especially in the nods and jokes that only an older audience will recognize. I love shows that recognize an older crowd is likely to be watching – be they siblings or caretakers or parents – and having episodes that parody old cop/detective shows, or the history of music that occurred long before the intended audience was born, or The Lord of the Rings – it’s brilliant to watch. Not only do kids enjoy the episodes, but I laugh too – often at things the kids don’t find funny.
I’ve suggested Phineas and Ferb to a great many of my friends, and usually start them on Dude We’re Getting the Band Back Together because the music and humor are absolutely fantastic. I think my favourite episode 9for the moment) however will have to be Finding Mary McGuffin, because the sight gags, the references to CSI and Film Noir, and Vanessa’s conversation with Doofenshmirtz at the end “So you just took the doll from the little girl and left her there crying? Wow that IS evil! Honey I am SO proud of you! It felt good, didn’t it? Yeah, we can build on this…”
It’s the sort of ‘villain’ family dynamic that is wonderful to see – that Doofenshmirtz has a family he truly cares about, and that Vanessa isn’t a one note character. The whole ten minutes of the episode is just a joy to watch.
So, um, yeah, a bit more of a mini essay than a comment, but I’ve been slowly convincing my friends to watch this show for over a year now and I could probably gush longer if I needed to. Phoneas and Ferb. It’s wonderful TV.
My favourite episode was Flop Starz, it was amazing and so catchy. I have a great video of my son singing his own version of it. Makes me smile
I have personally never watched the show myself, but I know a couple girls who would love to have this, so I see contest I post in an attempt to win a copy
I have 3 kids, two who are addicted to Phineas and Ferb. I always find myself sitting down and watching it with them. P & F are hilarious… Candice too. Rogers On Demand does not have nearly enough episodes for them to watch. This would send them over the couch if they had a copy of Phineas & Ferb: The Perry Files on DVD.
my kids love Phineas and Ferb. after school i find myself watching it with them. it’s a show they all watch together and don’t complain about !!
I like Phineas and Ferb for the jokes that there is no way kids will get. That and watching it cheer my younger brother up while he was very ill.
