Sine Mora is One of the Best Reviewed Titles This Year – Check it Out at PAX East 2012!

Sine Mora is a Critical Success with Publications and Gamers Everywhere

Budapest, Hungary – April 3, 2012 – Sine Mora has been a sweeping success across many publications, raking in 9 out of 10s time and time again across GameTrailers, Joystiq, Eurogamer, Gamer’s Temple and many more. The shmup – which launched March 21 exclusively on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft – has been praised for its high-octane, time bending mechanics that set it apart within the genre. Everybody going to PAX East 2012 (April 6-8 in Boston) should come check out Reverb Games’ booth (808) to see what all the fuss is about.

  • “As the clock loses its last few seconds and you feverishly try to shoot down something — anything — Sine Mora achieves a new level of tension.” – 9/10, IGN.com

  • “If you’re interested in checking out one of the finest contemporary examples of the genre, you should pick up Sine Mora without delay.” – 9.1/10, GameTrailers
  • “The colors are vibrant, the enemies are detailed and menacing and the environments are unique and fun to watch…if you can spare a few moments to look away from gunning down enemies.” – A-, UGO Entertainment
  • “As the games industry becomes increasingly obsessed with creating games that are all things to all people, blurring genres to hit as many demographic targets as possible with the least new releases, there’s a lot to be said for a game that not only knows precisely who it’s targeting, but what it needs to do to make that audience purr.” – 9/10, Eurogamer

The game proves a real challenge to players, and it even challenges the shoot-‘em-up genre as a whole. Many critics have lauded the game’s lofty goal of taking a game that could stand on its own with unique mechanics and making it better through an engrossing, affecting story. In finding a place between tried-and-true shmups and a visionary tribute, Destructoid’s 9.5/10 review calls Sine Mora “eternal and most definitely essential”.

Sine Mora is a love letter through and through. We knew the vision of Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture would come together to be brilliant, and we’re elated that games writers are seeing it for what it is,” said Balázs Horváth, director of publishing for Digital Reality. “More than anything, though, we want gamers to love it, and it looks as if they do.”

Co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality, and published by Microsoft Studios, Sine Mora is a dieselpunk shoot ‘em up that provides a unique take on the genre, where time is the ultimate factor. Mixing classic shooter sensibilities with next-gen presentation, Sine Mora is a gorgeous shmup that appeals to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. Available exclusively for Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360, Sine Mora features over 60 combinations of planes, characters and time manipulation devices to complete every beautifully-crafted stage with scaling difficulty. All of this is set to an epic score of soaring heights composed by Akira Yamaoka (acclaimed for his works on Shadows of the Damned and the Silent Hill series) and with set pieces from boss battles designed by the legendary anime director Mahiro Maeda (Final Fantasy: Unlimited, The Animatrix segment “The Second Renaissance Parts I and II”, and the animation sequence in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1).
