And The Winner of Spintunes 1 Is…

kevin-savino-rikerThe votes are in. The winner has been dspintunes-logo-smalleclared. The winner of Spintunes 1 is  Kevin Savino-Riker! Among all three voting platforms, the decision was the same. The past contestants (the first decider) voted 11 to 6 in favour of Kevin. The popular vote (first tiebreaker) was 16 to 10. And the judges were unanimous. Both finalists did a very good job throughout the entire competition and it could have gone either way. I look forward to hearing what Ross Durand comes up with for Spintunes 2.

Even so in this round the judges ranks and reviews would have only come into play if the votes from both the past contestants and popular vote were tied, they are up for your reading pleasure. You can read Sammy Kablam‘s review here. You can read Joe ‘Covenant’ Lamb‘s review here. You can read Travis Langworthy‘s review here. You can read Heather Zink‘s review here. And you can read my review here.

Winning Spintunes 1 means that Kevin has bragging rights until the second competition is over, he will be a judge for Spintunes 2 and he will be Geeky Pleasures Featured Musician for the month of September. Spintunes 2 will probably start around the beginning of October. Follow @SpinTunes on Twitter to stay up to date on all Spintunes related news.

And now a bit of an aside. Fellow judge, Joe ‘Covenant’ Lamb wrote a pretty groovy shadow for the final round of Spintunes. Now that the competition is over, it is up for your listening pleasure on the SpinTown/ Spintunes bandcamp. I’m also embedding it below for your listening pleasure. If you are viewing this in RSS, you may need to visit the site in order to hear it.
