Featured Artist for October 2009

My featured artist for the month of October is me. I feel odd doing this, really, really odd. I had another person slated for this month but they were unable to get me their art before the deadline. I had planned on featuring some of my own stuff at some point, just not this soon. I am not featuring all of my art. I do want to feature a few of my crafting projects and a couple videos that I made.

Below you will find 5 of my cross-stitch projects. The videos are movie trailer type videos. The one of Labyrinth never made the light of YouTube. Even so I clearly give credit where due and stated in the description it was a fan video, the would not accept it. The one for Quills was on YouTube for nearly 2 years. After over 1,000,000 views and awesome reviews, they decided to ban it for having depictions of sex and violence and my account was temporarily suspended. The quality for the videos are not the same as the originals. I had to compress them somewhat in order for them to stream properly.

I made this for a friend who designs and sews custom quilts.

Wow! Lovely cross stitches! I’ve never had the patience to do anything that elaborate. I think a few tiny flower on a tea towel for my grandmother and a little duck on a bib once. heh.

Great job with the videos too, the music fits really well and I know that is harder to do than it appears! I have never seen Quills but it looks rather intense!

About Jules Sherred

Jules Sherred does way more than should be legal. Most notably, she is the General Manager and Programming Director of The Look 24/7, host of the Geeky Pleasures Radio Show and the offshoot website, Geeky Pleasures, and core contributor to Wired’s GeekMom. She’s already written two non-fiction books — From The Mundane To The Insane: A Wonderful Journey Without A Destination and Tales Of A Lupus Butterfly — the partial proceeds of which go to lupus research and treatment, is working on another book called Nerd Love, and is beyond excited that Five Little Zombies And Fred is now a real thing for people to hold, read, and love. You can follow her on Twitter @GeekyJules. Also, SHE LOVES STAR TREK.
